  • 2 low-carb pitas we used Joseph’s
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1/4 yellow onion grated and liquid drained
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeno finely chopped
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Begin by grating half an onion and draining any excess liquid.
  • Finely dice two cloves of garlic, chop some fresh cilantro, and finely chop a jalapeno.
  • Mix all the diced vegetables together in a bowl.
  • Combine the vegetable mixture with the ground meat and season it with salt, pepper, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Ensure that the vegetables, meat, and spices are mixed thoroughly.
  • Slice the low-carb pitas in half and gently open them.
  • Stuff each pita with the seasoned meat mixture, pressing it uniformly inside the pita.
  • Brush both sides of the pitas with olive oil.
  • Grill the stuffed pitas on a pan for about 5-8 minutes on each side, or until the meat is cooked through and the pitas are crispy.
